Since 2009, this volunteer-led nonprofit initiative has relied on municipalities, Business Improvement Associations, businesses, community organizations, artists, donors, and volunteers for financial and in-kind support. Here is exactly what one piano season costs.
| Piano acquisition | $0 – $2,000 |
|---|---|
| Pickup & transport to storage | $0 – $400 |
| Repair work | $250 – $800 |
| Heated storage | $0 – $1,000 |
| Delivery to site | $300 |
| Insurance | $250 |
| On-site tuning | $250 |
| Mid-season maintenance | $200 |
| Rain cover | $0 – $250 |
| Paint & materials | $0 – $500 |
| Artist commission | $250 – $4,500 |
| Return to storage | $300 |
| Admin & coordination | $350 |
| One season, one piano | $2,150 – $10,800 |
Final costs vary depending on location, scope, and available support. In-kind support like storage, moving, paint, and tuning counts just as much as dollars.
What does a sponsorship buy? A season of spontaneous concerts outside your door, a landmark people photograph, and a reason to linger.
