Five smiling volunteers lean shoulder-to-shoulder over a chartreuse folk-art piano at a community-centre launch party.

Help us keep the Public Piano Project alive and vibrant

There's a benchfor you

The project runs on a dedicated network of professionals, volunteers, and partners who bring music and art to our communities. Whatever your skills, there's a bench for you.

Eight ways to carry a tune

Some of these roles need muscle, some need an ear, some just need someone who walks past a piano every day.

  • Piano movers

Professional piano moving companies with the equipment and experience to safely transport upright pianos. Moving pianos requires skill, coordination, and care.

  • Piano tuners

Certified or experienced tuners. Pianos must stay in tune and playable while they live outdoors.

  • Project coordinators

Community-minded organizers who can assist with scheduling, communications, and logistics.

  • Marketing & outreach

People experienced in social media, marketing, press releases, or fundraising.

  • Photographers & videographers

Creatives who can document installations, events, and artwork.

  • Piano stewards

Volunteers who check in on an assigned piano regularly and act as its guardian for the season.

  • Warehousing & storage

Commercial property owners with secure, dry, professional-grade storage space.

  • Paint & material sponsors

Companies willing to donate paint, brushes, sealants, and supplies.
